Financial Administration, Human Resources and Marketing Manager

Tammy has been working in the financial advice industry since 2000, moving into financial and business administration roles in 2005 when she joined Guide Financial.

Before working at Guide Financial Tammy gained experience at three very different financial advice firms. This enabled her to build a perspective on what valuable advice encompasses. Additionally, spending a few years assisting several businesses with consultancy bookkeeping taught Tammy more about business. She also valued the relationship built with business owners to support them with their business goals.

At Guide, Tammy is focused on financial administration, marketing, and human resources. She brings clarity, creativity and new ideas into the spotlight, working with others across the Guide network (AAN) to facilitate the flow of vital informative updates to Guide clients. She oversees the Guide Financial website, social media account and client newsletters as part of her role.

Tammy was fortunate to realise in her late teens that she wanted to help people in their financial journey as part of her career.

“Going through university I saw many people struggling with knowing how to make wise decisions especially with their finances. This allowed me to see greater value in my aptitude for numbers and after reading ‘Rich Dad, Poor Dad’, I decided to focus on helping people with their finances.”

Her Best Financial Advice

“Pay yourself first.” Building an early habit to put money aside for our future selves first has been a blessing, notes Tammy. “This has provided us with a freedom to build more flexibility into our lifestyle and jump at opportunities that came along in our lives.”

Rewarding Work

The most valuable client experience for Tammy is to see a friend join Guide as a client and become all excited and thankful about the confidence it has given them financially but also the stuff they have learnt about themselves by going through the process. “It’s the best!”

And on the Personal Side

The three things Tammy values most are:

  • having empathy for others,
  • gratefulness for what we have and
  • valuing the experiences we have had.

“I think this makes us live in a way that shows love and creates joy in our lives.”

Tammy is married to Guide Financial Director, Marc Venter, and together they have two teenage children. Fortunately they share her passion for adventure and trying new things outdoors.

When she can, Tammy enjoys paddle boarding, snowboarding and basketball and a good dystopian fantasy novel series, aka, Medoran Chronicles.

Her favourite animal is the whale shark. “They are majestic and just cruise through the ocean. They personify serenity.”
