Mary has been a stalwart at Guide Financial for over 11 years, taking a huge interest in the lives of our client community. With over 20 years’ experience in the industry, she understands how to assist with our clients’ various needs.

With her vibrant personality Mary has built relationships with many of our clients and understands what is going on in their lives that is important to them. She managed our front desk as receptionist until 2023 when she switched to part-time and stepped into a back-office role. She now assists with business and client admin and helping Stacey with reviewing our current clients’ loans to ensure they continue to get the best interest rates.

Before entering the financial advice industry, Mary had a career in nursing. Later, she trained in massage therapy and is a qualified Bowen Therapist. Her health training has been a great reminder that while you can have a healthy balance sheet, having a healthy body and mind is the number one priority in life.

“Don’t buy something unless you need it.”

Mary credits her mum for being the biggest influence on her life and approach to finances. “My mum shaped my life, she taught me to be independent, how to budget, encouraged me to learn and was always there when I needed someone to talk to.”

Rewarding Work

Throughout her time with Guide, Mary has shared in many client highlights. But for her, what perhaps stands out most of all is when you have second generations of a family join Guide as clients, you really know you have done your job well as this is perhaps the strongest endorsement you can get. After many years with us, through different economic cycles, the parents can vouch for the work that Brad and Marc and the whole team has delivered.

The three things that Mary values most in life are family, friends and time (i.e. having time to spend with them).

And in her spare time, she enjoys, reading, knitting and walking (when her knees cooperate).

Her favourite animal is the platypus. “They are elusive and different.”
